The Science Museum's online flight exhibition includes a section on the Gloster E.28/39 (the aircraft is displayed at the Science Museum) and the W1 engine. The All Star Network include Sir Frank Whittle in the International Aerospace Hall of Fame. The Art of Invention site includes this entry showing the US Patent of Whittle's jet engine. The bankers that funded Whittle's Power Jets company were called O.T. Falk & Partners - in fact that particular Falk was the father of Roly Falk, the famous test pilot (who tested the Avro Vulcan among other aircraft). Roly's son, John Falk has a homepage including a section on Falk family history which mentions Oswald Toynbee Falk. A small world! Like us, the Aerospace Museum is situated on the edge of an active airfield (RAF Cosford, a training station).
